The Patrick and Catherine Weldon Donaghue Medical Research Foundation was established as a charitable testamentary trust by Ethel Donaghue in memory of her parents. The Foundation is governed by two trustees, Lynne Garner and Bank of America as represented by Sheilah B. Rostow, Senior Vice President.

Lynne Garner, Ph.D., was appointed as the Individual Trustee for the Donaghue Foundation as of January 1, 2008 while maintaining the functions of Executive Director, a position she accepted in 2003. As Trustee and Executive Director, Dr. Garner works closely with the Institutional Trustee, Bank of America, to establish the mission and policies of the Foundation and to ensure that its programs and practices are congruent with Ethel Donaghue's purpose for the Foundation. She also works closely with the Foundation's policy advisers and the research and philanthropic communities to develop new Foundation initiatives. Dr. Garner also serves as Trustee for the Ethel F. Donaghue Trust for Elizabeth Park.

Lynne received her doctorate in sociology from the University of Massachusetts in 1986, with concentrations in medical sociology and applied research methods. Prior to her position at the Foundation, she worked at the Connecticut Office of Health Care Access and the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health.
